Refurbishment, conversion and adaptation is a complex sector requiring specific skills and understanding of various building and construction types. Horizon has successfully completed a number of projects within this specialised area. Perhaps two of the most notable are the conversion of the old Nuffield Hospital in Christchurch Park, Ipswich, Suffolk, into more than 40 residential properties, and our restoration of a 500 year-old Grade Two listed barn into an award winning restaurant, the Barn Brasserie in Great Tey, near Colchester in Essex. A specialist area where Horizon has gained considerable experience is barn conversions and period properties. Horizon has built on its experience and considers itself a specialist in this field, gaining specialist skills in the sympathetic refurbishment of period materials including oak, pitch pine, thatch and masonry. |
